INTRODUCING CHRIS GIBBS

Chris began his horse education as a youngster with his father, Jim Gibbs. Annoying everyone at the stables on weekends and school holidays. His first job was at a horse stud called Patawa Stud, for a man called Richard Gould, where he learned a lot about the breeding industry. He then worked for Dave O’Sullivan, riding work and travelling horses away. After a brief stint in Sydney with Neville Begg he went to work for his father for 5 years the last 3 years in partnership. Jim Gibbs downsized his operation and an opportunity came up to run a new satellite stable for the O’Sullivan Stable in Sydney. They were very successful over 3 years winning multiple Black Type races including the Sires Produce Stakes, a Group 1. He has been to Japan to work as well as different parts of Australia but New Zealand always was the place that he wanted to be. He went into partnership with Donna and Dean Logan where they enjoyed plenty of success not only in big races but steadily increasing the number of winners each year. He was with the Logan team for 8 years, and after a 4 year break from horses he came back to the stable and has been here for the last 2 years. “It is a great team to work with here at Logan racing, we have a top group of staff and some lovely horses to train. I am really looking forward to the future at Logan Racing!” .
