LOGAN RACING @ RUAKAKA, WEDNESDAY MARCH 18TH

Logan Racing has a team of 11 starters at Ruakaka on Wednesday. An 8 race programme normally run at Counties.

CARD SHARK starts in the JLT Bloodstock 1200m maiden and will be ridden by Samantha Collet. A 3 year old gelding owned by the estate of Dean Logan by Postponed out of Straight Ace. He has drawn barrier 4 and is on debut. Card Shark has had one unplaced trial. We wait with anticipation to see how he performs.

TOUCH THE SKY also starts in the JLT Bloodstock 1200m maiden and will be ridden by Matt Cameron. A 3 year old filly owned by the Peters Equine Trust  She is by Ekraar out of Anticipation and is on debut. Drawn barrier 1. Has had 2 trials and ran second at the last one at Matamata on Feb 24th. We have had experience with Ekraar fillies coming into form as 3 year olds and based on her gallops she should be in the finish.

RIVER RAIDER starts in the Electrical Systems Northland 1200m Rating 65  and will be ridden by Lee Magorrian (go the Irish). A 4 year old half brother to Card Shark by Storm Creek out of Straight Ace is a gelding owned by the estate of Dean Logan. He has had 6 starts for 1 win, 1 second and 1 third. His last start was on October 1st where he ran third. His win was at Ruakaka on August 13th last year.He has drawn 6. River Raider has been working well and we expect a big run.

ROCKNROLLA also starts in the Electrical Systems Northland 1200m Rating 65  and will be ridden by Matt Cameron. A 4 year old mare owned by Donna Logan, Kim O'Riley, Jan and Dave Mein, Mark Treloar , Myra Langstone and Colin Thomson. By Towkay out of Danness. The mare has drawn barrier 5 and has had 16 starts for 2 wins, 2 seconds and 3 thirds. Her last win was at Avondale on July 12th on a heavy track  and she ran 4th in her last start at Ruakaka on September 13th. Rocknrolla may prefer a wetter track but we expect her to be in the finish.

MONGOLIAN STORM starts in the Adams Trimmer Mile Rating 75  and will be ridden by Brendon Hutton. A 3 year old colt owned by Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry (NZ) Ltd. He has drawn 2 and is by Savabeel out of Danish Wedding. He has had 11 starts for 1 win and 2 seconds He won his last start at Avondale on 15th February over a mile and we hope he can repeat that effort here.

STAND YOUR GROUND also starts in the Adams Trimmer Mile Rating 75  and will be ridden by Matt Cameron. A 4 year old gelding by Coats Choice out of Cruella. He has drawn barrier 6 and is owned by A Bradley, DR Frampton, AM Goodwin, JE Harman and WM Woods. He has had 19 starts for 2 wins, 2 seconds and 3 thirds. He should also be in the finish. 

PITTSBURGH LAD starts in the Ford Fiesta Sport Ecoboost 1400m Maiden 3 year old  and will be ridden by Samantha Collet. A 3 year old gelding by Ekraar out of Street Law. He is owned by Carter Bloodstock Ltd  and Powell Bloodstock Ltd and has drawn barrier 1. Pittsburgh Lad has had 4 starts for 2 4ths. His last start was at Ellerslie over 1200m on 4th March and he should have improved enough out of that race to go close to breaking maiden ranks.

DANCING DONNA also starts in the Ford Fiesta Ecoboost 1400m Maiden 3 year old and will be ridden by Matt Cameron. A 3 year old filly by Mastercraftsman out of former stable star Dashing Donna owned by Donna Logan, Victoria Carter, Melita Gray, Sherril Sibun, Kerre Woodham, Philli Syndicate and Grace Sibun. She has drawn 6 and has had 2 starts for a fifth. She ran 3rd at the Cambridge trials on Feb 1st. We are hoping for a stronger run by Dancing Donna. 

THINKING OUT LOUD races in the Dean Logan Memorial Maiden 1600m and will be ridden by Samantha Collet. A 4 year old gelding by St Reims out of Jenny May. He has drawn 9 and is owned by the estate of Dean Logan. Thinking Out Loud has had 1 unplaced trial. He is on debut and may need the run . Fingers crossed.

MONTIGO also starts in the Dean Logan Memorial Maiden Mile and will be ridden by Matt Cameron. A 3 year old Edenwold out of Every Cloud is owned by Donna Logan and Ivy Pearson. Montigo has had 2 unplaced starts but has improved a lot since being gelded. On his work he could be in the finish.

LULUL'AMOUR also starts in the Dean Logan Memorial Maiden  Mile and wll be ridden by Mark Du Plessis. A 3 year old filly by Nom Du Jeu out of Al's Angel. She has drawn 6 and is owned by Alan Young, Ken Beer and Chris Grace. She has had 1 unplaced trial and has been working well enough to feature in the finish.
