The 4 year old Lucky Unicorn gelding is owned by ML Anghie and D and J Brescacin. 13 starts for 2-1-2 last start was a strong run for 4th at Ruakaka. Should be right in this. Bill Breaker has drawn 8 and will be ridden by Matt Cameron. The 6 year old gelding is owned by H T O'Leary. 20 starts for 1-1-3 Good 4th at Ruakaka last start and due to put his foot in the til.
Race 4 Stirling Bloodstock 3 YO Maiden 1400m Mongolian Warrior has drawn 11 and will be ridden by Vincent Colgan. The 3 year old Swiss Ace black colt is owned by Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry (NZ) Ltd. 2 unplaced starts, he has been working well and will hopefully perform well here.

The 5 year old Fully Fledged gelding is owned by MG Dunn, JA Gibbs , R Thornley and EM Tynan. 10starts for 4-2-0 has run 2 seconds after 3 wins on end at Ruakaka. Was a bit flat in his last run and this week has shown a lot more spark . Good field but could win this.

He is getting towards the end of his career and always puts in a big run here. Royal Sceptre has drawn 5 and will be ridden by Vinny Colgan. The 7 year old Royal Gem gelding is owned by WN Dollimore and CR McCarroll. 31 starts for 4-2-4 , a win and then a third place here last start. Has been working well enough to get some of this.

Working well enough to be in this. Warzone has drawn 7 and will be ridden by Vinny Colgan. The 5 year old War Pass mare is owned by Whakanui Stud Ltd. 11 starts for 2-0-1. Won her 2 starts prior to last start and hopefully will come back into form here. Zafrenzy has drawn 3 and will be ridden by Samantha Spratt. The 5 year old Savabeel mare is owned by Mrs C, MC, MK, and TP Dravitzid , Mrs KM Megcheise , L and T Vincent. 16 starts for 2-1-1. Is working well enough to be in the finish. A bit less weight than the favourite .River Raider has drawn 5 and will be ridden by Christopher Dell. The 5 year old Storm Creek gelding is owned by the estate of the late Dean Logan. Hasn't raced since July and would be good to see him run well for Chris after his long absence from the track since his accident on December 9th at the Ruakaka Trials.
Australia - Flemington sees Volkstok'n'barrel run in the Makybe Diva 1600m Group 1 for $400000. at 6.05pm NZ time. A star studded field. Let's hope Volkstok'n'barrel comes home strongly from his horror draw of 16. Ridden by Craig Williams and aiming at the Cox Plate or Caulfield Cup.
