VOLKSTOK'N'BARRELL HEADING TO SYDNEY ON WEDNESDAY 30TH MARCH TO JOIN VALLEY GIRL

Volkstok'n'barrell heads to Sydney on Wednesday aimed at the The Star Doncaster Mile Group 1 $3million with a dream weight of 52.5kg. A jockey has not been confirmed but Corey Brown could be an option.

Valley Girl has pulled up well after her Vinery run. She ran a strong second and will improve to peak for the Australian Oaks on Saturday 9th April at Randwick. Down 10kg to 530kg yesterday she is in great shape and her coat is starting to glow. She is eating and drinking really well and is very relaxed. All going well she will be hard to beat. Brett Prebble will ride.

Chris Gibbs and Donna Logan also have 2 runners at Matamata on Wednesday.

Mongolian Spear will start in the Jim and Ann Gibbs 1400m from barrier 5. The 3 year old Testa Rossa colt is owned by Inner Mongolia Rider Horse and will be ridden by Leith Innes. He has had only 1 start at Ruakaka on October 28th where he ran 5th. He has been working well and will get better over more ground. He should be coming home strongly and can hopefully run in the first three.

.

Picnic Bay will start in the NZB Insurance Pearl Series Race for Maiden fillies and mares over 1400m from barrier 1. The 3 year old filly is owned by HC Bloodstock, Jason Harris, Greg Carpenter, Darren Hannay, Hassan Moosberry, Donna Barnes, Paulette Phillips, and Michael Borlase and will be ridden by Mark Du Plessis. She has had 2 starts for no placings , She ran 4th in her last start at Te Rapa on 20th January. We are hoping for a strong run here.
