LOGAN RACING HAVE 2 CHANCES OF WINNING GROUP 1 RACES THIS WEEKEND WITH HORSES RUNNING IN SYDNEY, ELLERSLIE AND AWAPUNI

We are worried about the rain forecast for Saturday. A really wet track would probably not help our NZ runners.

Ellerslie  3 runners Race 2 Ginde 1300m 2 year old SW and P $20000 sees Astara line up from barrier 6 ridden by Samantha Collett. The 2 year old Dalgar filly is owned by Nevan Botica and has had 2 starts for 2-0-1-0. Her last start was in the Matamata Breeders Stakes on 27th February where she finished 4th after beginning awkwardly and being hampered in the run home. She's a big chance of getting some of this.

Race 6 the Te Akau Racing Celebrates Heroic Velour 1200m Rating 65 Benchmark $20000 sees Silencer line up from barrier 10 ridden by Ryan Elliot who claims 3 kg. The 4 year old Falkirk gelding is owned by Kaskazi Group Ltd and has had 7 starts for 1-3-0. He finished 8th in his last start at Ellerslie on 12th March. Another wide draw isn't great but he has improved since his spell and can finish in the first 3 here.

Race 7 the 80's and 90's Party @ Ellerslie Open Handicap 1200m $30000 sees In Flight line up from barrier 6 ridden by Brendan Hutton. The 5 year old Fully Fledged gelding is owned by MG Dunn, JA Gibbs MNZM , R Thornley, and EM Tynan and has had 12 starts for 5-2-0. His last start was on 26th September where he finished 6th at Ellerslie. He should have another big season.

At Awapuni we have Wyndspelle in the Group 1 Courtesy Ford Manawatu Sire's Produce Stakes for 2 year olds SW 1400m $225000. The 2 year old Iffraaj colt has drawn 6 and will be ridden by Mark Du Plessis. He is owned by J Frew, S Hanna,  Jen Campin Bloodstock Ltd and NP Randles and has had 3 starts for 1-2-0. His last start was in the Sistema Diamond Stakes at Te Rapa where he stormed home for second. The ground that day was cutting out. Not sure how much rain is coming , so we hope the track isn't too bad. He will be very hard to beat.

At Randwick Volkstok'n'barrell lines up in The Star Doncaster Mile $3000000 from barrier 10 ridden by Singapore based Corey Brown. The 4 year old Tavistock gelding is stringing together the Group 1's. This will be his biggest test. Owned by Ashley Goodwin, Rosemont Stud, Garry Cossey, Jim Gibbs , Ann Gibbs and Donna Logan. Now in the millionaires club, he has had 18 starts for 8-1-3. He has a good draw, a good jockey and a dream weight of 52.5 kg. Lets hope he's good enough to test Winks. Top class racing at it's best.
