LOGAN RACING HAVE 4 STARTERS AT ELLERSLIE ON SATURDAY 23RD APRIL INCLUDING CANDLE IN THE WIND IN THE GROUP 1 MANCO EASTER STAKES

Race 3 the Dream Beds 1200m Rating 85 sees In Flight line up from barrier 10 ridden by Brendan Hutton. The 5 year old Fully Fledged  gelding is owned by MG Dunn, JA Gibbs MNZM, R Thornley and EM Tynan. He has had 13 starts for 5-2-0 and his last start was on April 5th at Ellerslie where he finished 5th. He jumped well and led most of the way just coming to the end of it. He will improve on that run and despite a big weight he should feature in the finish. Also in Race 3 is Rocknrolla from barrier 11 ridden by Matt Cameron. She is unlikely to start if the track is too good. The 5 year old Towkay filly is owned by Donna Logan, Mark Treloar, Kim O'Riley, Len Reed, Tane Beckhan, Nathan Pene, John Frew, Myra Langstone, Jan and Dave Mein, and Colin Thomson. She has had 27 starts for 4-3-6 and has not started since October 24th. She has strengthened and should have a big season.

Race 5 the Auckland Co Op Taxis Champagne Stakes Listed 2 YO SW 1600m sees Astara start from barrier 5 ridden by Samantha Collett. The 2 year old Dalgar filly is owned by Neven Botica. She has had 3 starts for 1-1-0 and won her last start at Ellerslie on April 2nd in the Ginde 1300m. She is a very good filly and should be hard to beat.

Race 8 the Manco Easter Stakes 1600m Group 1 sees Candle In The Wind start from barrier 13 ridden by Lee Tiley. The 6 year old Darci Brahma mare is owned by VS Cronin, F Gianone, GS Racing Ltd, IR Gwyn, PD and PD Jeffreys, K Ozkan and AB Skelton.  She has had 24 starts for 6-2-1. This is a very strong field at Group 1 level but Candle In The Wind loves racing at Ellerslie. Lets hope the ground has a bit of give and she should improve off her last run and feature in the finish. A good run may see her venture to Brisbane
