Race 2 at 18.50 or 23.50 NZ time sees Whakaaria Mai start in the Open Maiden 1200m Polytrack $20000. The 4 year old Showcasing gelding will be ridden by Erasmus Aslam from barrier 4 carrying 57.5 kg. Interested parties in this horse are Donna Logan, Ashley Goodwin, Benson Chan, Lawrence Tan and Michael Pereira. This horse has had problems along the way and has taken a while to get back to the races. Has trialled well recently . Lets hope everything is back on track and he puts a foot in the til. Working well and one of the staff favourites.

Race 3 at 19.20 or 00.20 NZ time sees the clash of the rising Super Easy stars. The Big Easy starts in the Novice 1100m Polytrack $85000 . The 4 year old Super Easy gelding will be ridden by Vlad Duric from barrier 8 carrying 58 kg. Interested parties are GS Racing , Dennis Tay, Donna Logan, Ashley Goodwin, Graham Lemon, Ivy Pearson and Peter Woods. He won in a class record time last start and must be hard to beat again.

Super Posh lines up in the same race ridden by Nooresh Juglall from barrier 5 carrying 54kg. The 3 year old Super Easy gelding has interested parties Taw Song Chiam, Dennis Tay, Ashley Goodwin, Tony Chown, Sandy Moore, Ivy Pearson, Mukand Basarge and Peter Woods. Sandy is the breeder and selling his sister at the Karaka Yearling Sales in January. He won a trial then won on debut on 16th November leading all the way. Also very hard to beat. Unfortunately these 2 very good horses clash .

The 3 year old Kuroshio gelding has Gary Lui and George Doyle as interested parties. Last start winner who will be hard to beat again. Drawn a bit wide but can hopefully cap off a successful night.

Race 1 starts at 12.35 or 17.35 NZ time. The Nova Strike 2017 Class 5 1200m Polytrack $20000 sees Hippo Ventura as an unlikely starter being first emergency. The 8 year old Iffraaj gelding is owned by Kai Oh Hong and has drawn 14. Ran third in his last start on December 2nd and would be a chance to repeat with his light weight.

The 4 year old Road To Rock gelding is owned by Al Arabiya Stable . A very nice horse that has won his last 2 starts and is a great chance of collecting the Hattrick.

Race 9 starts at 17.20 or 22.20 NZ time. The Colonial Chief Stakes Group 3 1600m Polytrack $175000 sees Volkstok'n'barrel return to the track. The 7 year old Tavistock gelding is owned by Rosemont Stud Racing Stable with interested parties Ashley Goodwin, Garry Cossey, Chris Gibbs, Jim Gibbs and Donna Logan. He will be ridden by Craig Grylls from barrier 7. Plagued with problems since his late arrival from Quarantine and a minor stress fracture that took time to heal he has been behind the eight ball for most of his prep. On his work, racing weight etc he appears to be back to his best and loyal supporters could be rewarded here.
Race 10 starts at 1800 or 2300 NZ time. The Escamonda 2010 Class 4 Premier 1100m Polytrack $60000 sees Big Elephant start from barrier 9 ridden by Erasmus Aslam. The 3 year old Kuroshio gelding is owned by PCO Racing Stable. He won his trial well and is working really well. Has to be a chance on debut.
