BEAUTY GENERATION HAS WON $12.5 MILLION NZ. THIS IS THE STORY OF THE SMALL PART LOGAN RACING PLAYED IN HIS CREATION.

January 30th 2007 was a very historic day for New Zealand Bloodstock. Lot 411 at the Premier Sale of the Karaka Sales sold for $2 million. The Zabeel colt out of Sunline sold to Manukau Bloodstock Ltd. Two Lots earlier Donna Logan bought a Bel Esprit filly out of Stylish Victory for $110000 from Ascot Farm , Cambridge , a lot of money for a small Stable from Ruakaka , Northland. We had been sitting with Cindy Alderson , a friend and Trainer from Cranbourne, Australia. She was raving the sire Bel Esprit and Donna liked the look of the  filly.  She was named Stylish Bel and never got to the races due to a back issue. The owners were John St Clair Brown, John Thomson and Peter Woods and we took her over after  everyone lost interest  . If Gavel House was around then she probably would have been sold. We couldn't afford to do much and were approached by Westbury Stud to do a deal with Cecconi , their new Sire. This resulted in two fillies , one of which we are breeding from today. The third season we got a call from Adrian Clark who offered a similar deal with Road To Rock . Nearco  bred Beauty Generation and we bred Steelcutter that ended up in Singapore. A winner but has leg issues. After that there were  seasons we didn't breed, an Echoes Of Heaven called Drops Of Jupiter, along the same Encosta De Lago cross , that will race soon and a Tavistock filly offered for Sale in this years Karaka Sale Lot 443 which is very exciting.

This is a classic story of how a Champion horse can come from humble beginnings . We do our Tesio  matings every year  with Gary Cossey before the Sales and we thought the cross looked OK , not realising what horse would be produced. Without Cindy Alderson  talking up Bel Esprit , without the phone call from Adrian Clark  and  without Donna taking the great risk in buying Stylish Bel it is certain that Beauty Generation would not have existed.

Kylie Bax played a big part in his future and he was eventually sold to Anthony Cummings in Australia. He ran second in the Rosehill Guineas to Tarzino and fourth in the BMW and was sold to Hong Kong. Stylish Bel was recently sold to Rosemont Stud in foal to Tarzino and she had a colt. He could end up being a serious racehorse.

Hong Kong owner Patrick Kwok we understand is only 26 years old and must be on cloud nine. He took the risk to pay big money for Beauty Generation and is reaping huge rewards. Congratulations. We have set up a Stable in Singapore and have been here for 1 year now. We hope to get up to Hong Kong to watch Beauty Generation race one day and watch every time he races. We are blessed to still have  some of the family and hope something crops up that is half as good.

We hope this inspires the battling breeders  to keep trying . You just never know where the next Champion  horse   will come from.
