GREAT START TO THE NEW YEAR FOR LOGAN RACING, LOGAN RACING @ RUAKAKA

Midnitemajicman is no longer a maiden as he kicked off the New Year's Day race meeting at Ellerslie by winning the first race. Logan Racing was pleased to secure the services of top international hop James McDonald as he superbly steered home this Tavistock 3YO gelding. Congratulations to owners, Mrs S & Z Bettley, Miss S A Hale, Mrs L & P Hennessy, A, Mrs M M & W L Robinson, G W & Mrs M W Simon.

Five races later, another Tavistock 3YO gelding, Volkstocknbarrell cemented his TV3 NZ Derby favouritism by winning the Group 2, The Sound, Great Northern Guineas. Stable favourite, Durham Town returned to his old form with a brave third in the Group 1, Sistema Railway and not to be outdone, both To Be Sure and Candle In The Wind defied their long shot prices by finishing 5th and 7th respectively in the top class Rich Hill Mile field.

The racing Christmas carnival continues with Logan Racing to produce multiple runners on the home course at Ruakaka on the 6th January 2015.

Race 1, Kumara's Memorial, a maiden event over 2100 metres, sees Mongolian Storm line up. A 3YO Svabeel - Danish Wedding colt is owned by the  Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry Co Ltd. Logan Racing pays tribute to Kelvin 'Kumara' Snell:

Race 3, Adam Trimmer Insurance, a maiden event over 1200 metres, sess Hearsay, a 4YO mare Postponed - All The Goss owned by NZ Thoroughbred Holdings Ltd take her place alongside stablemate Malala, a 3YO Thewayyouare - Danny Holiday filly owned by the Habibi team of P J & H J Crofskey, GP Crofskey & P A McIntyre. Both Hearsay and Malala are also nominated in Race 4, the NZB Insurance Pearl Series, F&M Maiden over 1200 metres. A decision will be made closer to the time on which race best suits either horse.  

Fiamette owned by M Darroch, P R Dickey, D Gordon, Miss S M Logan, J McCrea & W M Woods takes her place in the Trigg Construction is a maiden event over 1600 metres where she has drawn 10.

A three pronged attack in the Croft Poles 1400 Maiden sees Lord and Master, a 3YO gelding by Mastercraftman - Lady Cherokee owned by John and Victoria Carter heading stablemates Montigo, a 3YO colt by Edenwold - Every Cloud owned by Mrs D M Logan & I Pearson and Hvala, a 3YO filly by Sakhee's Secret - Huluava owned by Sir Peter Vela.

Hymatsu owned by Jen Campin Racing & N P Randles is a 3YO gelding by Mastercraftsman - Elyzabel will take his place in the Whangarei I Love It Here 3YO Maiden over 1400 metres. Lord and Master, Montigo and Hvala are also nominated for this race.  

In the final event of day, the Cowley's Hire Centre 1400, 4YO mare Sakology, by Sakhees Secret - Astrology owned by  D & P Seebeck, S Clissold & Astrology Syndicatewill take her place in the field alongside stablemate Huckberry Flyer who is a 4YO No Excuse Needed - De Palio gelding owned by Eveline Faulkner Ltd.  

This traditional January meeting will also see harness racing races included on a large programme with a huge holidaying crowd expected. Good luck to all the Logan Racing owners.
