The Logan Racing stable presents a big team of runners at Headquarters this weekend in what is a precursor to the upcoming Auckland Cup week. The day kicks for team in Race 1, the Macular Degeneration NZ Mile with:

Galaktika, a 4YO Thorn Park - Volkster mare owned by IDL Racing. She has drawn barrier 5 and will be ridden by Opie Bosson.

To Be Sure, returns to racing after a slight let up to compete in the Retina Specialists 1200. This 5YO Patapan - O'Reilly Impulsive gelding is owned by Mrs M L Bradley, M Corbett, A M Goodwin & W M Woods, will be ridden by Samantha Collett from drawn barrier 4.

4YO Ekraar - Post Romance mare, Rising Romance also makes a return to racing as she prepares for Australia targets. Apprentice Lee Maggorian has been entrusted the mount for owners John & Victoria Carter, Brian Carter & M R Powell, in the Ophthalmic Instruments Company 1500 where she has drawn barrier 10.  

The much anticipated Group 2, Essilor New Zealand Avondale Guineas is one of the traditional leadup races to the TV3 New Zealand Derby and Logan Racing will proudly present two runners. Firstly, Volkstock'n'barrell, owned by G J Cossey, Mrs A Gibbs, C W Gibbs, J A Gibbs MNZM, A M Goodwin, IDL Racing Ltd, Mrs D M Logan & Rosemont Stud Pty Ltd. Regular pilot Matthew Cameron takes the mount on this 3YO Tavistock - Volkster gelding, where he had drawn barrier 11. Derby king Vinnie Colgan is the new jockey for Midnitemajicman, a 3YO gelding also by Tavistock out of Keeper mare Keep Alight. He has drawn next to his stablemate in barrier 10 for owners  Mrs S & Z Bettley, Miss S A Hale, Mrs L & P Hennessy, A, Mrs M M & W L Robinson, G W & Mrs M W Simon.     

Impressive last start winner, Candle In The Wind, takes her place in the Group 2, Go Racing Syndications, Avondale Gold Cup. Top hoop Matthew Cameron will ride this 5YO Darci Brahma - Prefer Blondes mare from barrier 12 for owners GS Racing Ltd, B G Moffat, I R Gwyn & Cloughmore Racing Partnership.
