LOGAN RACING @ AVONDALE, FRIDAY 8TH MAY
It was a bittersweet day at Logan Racing @ Matamata on Wednesday with a sentimental win by Finn's Halo part owned by the late Dean Logan and Graeme Finlayson. Unfortunately, the day ended with the demise of Pittsburgh Lad shortly after placing in the last race. Donna has subsequently requested an autopsy to determine why this happened to a previously sound, one win horse. Our condolences go out to the owners.
Up On The Roof, 3YO gelding, owned by the late WM Woods kicks off the day for Logan Racing at Avondale in Race 2 the www.ajc.co.nz Maiden 1200. He will be ridden by Mathhew Cameron and has drawn barrier 1. He has had 1 start for a 4th and will be a chance if the rain comes.
Its a two pronged attack for Logan Racing in Race 4, the Avondale Sunday Markets Maiden 1400 with Flash Forward, a 5YO Patapan - Angel's Honour gelding owned by Ms F B Crimmins & F J Mullineaux, lining up. Lee Magorrian claims 2kgs from barrier 8. Better draw than last start and the claim will help. Also taking her place in this race is Annella, a 3YO filly by Falkirk - Kasella who is owned by Mrs H J & P J Crofskey and has drawn barrier 22, Rogan Norvall takes the mount. First start with a wide draw on a wet track. We have a high opinion of this horse and hopefully she will perform.
Radar, 6YO gelding, Spartacus - Irish Temple, owned by G J Cossey, M Darroch, W Hill & Mrs D M Logan starts in the Morgan Furniture Mile Drawn 6 and ridden by Sam Collett. Has had 26 starts for 3 wins, 8 seconds and 2 thirds. Has been galloping with Uncle Shayne lately and could well be in the finish.
Big Voices, 4YO mare, Duke of Marmalade - Good Faith, owned by Mark Treloar, Rising Star Syndicate (Mgr: K T Crooke) & D M Logan. also starts in the Morgan Furniture Mile. Drawn 7 and ridden by Matt Cameron. Has had 19 starts for 2 wins, 2 seconds and 2 thirds. Has been working really well and should be in the finish.
River Raider, 4YO gelding, Storm Creek - Straight Ace, owned by Est Late G D Logan. Has drawn 3 and will be ridden by Sam Collett. 8 starts for 1 win , 2 seconds and 1 third. Starts in the Avondale Jockey Club On Facebook R65 Mile. Should be in the finish.
Bravo Supremo, 3YO Ifraaj - Pentura, owned by Lena Ang. Starts in the Track Snaps Mile , has drawn 2 and will be ridden by Matt Cameron. Has had 1 unplaced start and should like the wet track.
