ROBERT LOGAN FUNDRAISING FOR NEW ZEALAND CANCER SOCIETY
Hello
Just
a quick message from the younger member of the Logan team, Robert.
As
many, if not all of you are aware, Dad (Dean) passed away just over 2 months
ago.
Before
Dad passed away it was the topic of a few discussions that I was very keen to
run a Half Marathon.
So
on November the 1st I will be running the ASB Auckland Half Marathon in memory
of
Dad,
I am also fundraising for the New Zealand Cancer society.
The
Cancer society provide amazing facilities and services to people who are
fighting this disease,
during
Dad’s battle himself and the family used the facilities on offer.
What
was available to Dad and the family made the process far easier than what it
could have been.
I
know that every dollar I raise will go towards maintaining and expanding the
availability of these services.
Personally
I just want to be able to do my bit, albeit small, to help anyone who is faced
with anything
similiar
to what Dad went through.
Everyday
around 51 New Zealander’s will be diagnosed with cancer.
This
is a fast growing issue and I am willing to do my bit by running.
Now
comes the part where I ask for donations, but truly any amount is greatly
appreciated,
whether
its $1 or $1,000. Whatever your happy to give if you can and are willing to, I
cannot even begin to tell you how appreciative I am for any kind of donation.
Any
form of donation from any body is an unbelievable boost and is something that
motivates me even more to help out.
I
have set myself a rather substantial goal of $10,000 and I currently have
fundraised $3,680, so as you can tell theres still a fair bit to go.
Also
I have a goal of a top 500 finish, which based on last years results, where 8,615
people take part in the half marathon alone, is going to be a challenge, one
which I’m welcoming with open arms.
I
completely understand if people aren’t willing or able to donate, but any
support in whatever form suits you is noticed and appreciated.

So
all I ask is that you support me and spread the word.
Have
a magnificent day
Thank
you very much
Robert
