LOGAN RACING RUNNERS AT ELLERSLIE SATURDAY 23RD MAY

Race 2   Armitage Mile Open Handicap. Uncle Shayne .      The 7  year old Bachelor Duke out of Alarmed gelding has had 45 starts for 5-7-1. He has drawn 6 and will be ridden by Trudy Thornton. Owned by GS Racing, D Logan and M Mathias. He has some wet track form and is due to go a bold race.

Race 6 Broderick Print Maiden Mile. Super Ready .  The 3 year old gelding by Perfectly Ready out of Commonplace owned by Lena Ang has had 3 starts for 0-1-0 and has drawn 21 which won't matter on the heavy track  although this will be a lot wetter than when he ran second at Matamata on May 6th , jumped well crept forward to the middle and came home powerfully down the outside to finish second to stable mate Finns Halo by a very small margin. Should go a big race. If he doesn't start at Ellerslie he will start at Te Aroha on Wednesday.

Race 6 Broderick Print Maiden Mile . Bravo Supremo. The 3 year old gelding by Iffraaj out of Pentura is owned by Lena Ang and has had 2 starts for 0-0-1. He has drawn 10.  His last start was at Avondale on a Slow 9 track . He missed the start , crept up the rail to be in the middle at the 1000m mark and came home strongly. Could well be in the finish.

Race 8 Shamrock Recruitment 1400m Benchmark Rating 65. Fiamette The 4 year old by   Bel Danaro out of Mother Flame is owned by M Darrock, R Dickey, D Gordon, S Logan, J McRae and W Woods. She has drawn 11 and will be ridden by Matt Cameron. 10 starts for 1-3-1 and has some wet track form. She won a trial at Paeroa on a heavy 10 track and ran second at Avondale last year. Has been working well enough to get some of this.

Race 10 Papatoetoe Glass Mile Rating 75 Benchmark. Radar. By Spartacus out  of Irish Temple is owned by G Cossey, M Darroch, W Hill and D Logan. He will be ridden by Trudy Thornton and has had 27 starts for 3-8-2. He has no real wet track form apart from a trial win way back and will improve from the race. His target will be a future Ruakaka race.

Race 10 Papatoetoe Glass Mile Rating 75 Benchmark. Thornbird Lass. The 4 year old mare will be ridden by Matt Cameron and is owned by GS Racing, B Moffat, G Sutherland and W Woods. She has drawn 1 , not good for a heavy track, and has great heavy track form 5 starts for 3-1-0. Her last start which she won was at Rotorua on a heavy 11 track. She should be hard to beat. Only worry is the draw. Vinnie Colgan who rode her to win at Rotorua will ride Emily Monk in this.
