4 HORSES FROM LOGAN RACING STABLES TRYING FOR GROUP 1 SUCCESS AT ELLERSLIE ON SATURDAY MARCH 12TH

Race 2 the Waste Management Rating 65 1200m sees Silencer start from barrier 18 ridden by Leith Innes. The 4 year old Falkirk gelding is owned by Kaskazi Group Ltd and has had 6 starts for 1-3-0. His last start was for 4th at Avondale on 21st November 2015. He has had a long break and has come back stronger than ever. It will be very difficult to win with the top weight of 60.5 kg and the wide 18 draw but he is a very good horse and could feature in the top 3.

Race 6 the Group 1 Sistema Diamond Stakes 1200m sees Mongolian Falcon start from barrier 12 ridden by Michael Coleman. The 2 year old Fastnet Rock colt is owned by Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry (NZ) Ltd and has had 3 starts for 1-1-1. His last start was for a second at Matamata on 27th February in the Slipper. Not a great draw but with cover he will be coming home strongly at the end and could win this.

The Soultaker starts from barrier 13 ridden by Vinnie Colgan. The 2 year old Iffraaj colt is owned by Graeme Lemon, Donna Logan, Ivy Pearson, George and Maryanne Simon and Dennis Tay. Being by Iffraaj makes him eligible  for the $100k Haunui Farm Bonus. He has had 4 starts for 1-2-0 and he won a trial at Cambridge on 23rd February. Another horror draw will make things difficult. He is a very good horse that should get some Black Type here.

Wyndspelle starts from barrier 1 ridden by Chris Johnson.  The 2 year old Iffraaj colt is owned by J Frew, S Hanna, Jen Campin Bloodstock Ltd, and NP Randles. He is also eligible for the Haunui Farm $100k Bonus. He has had 2 starts for 1-1-0 and won his last start at Te Rapa on 13th February. A nice draw to take advantage of and is certainly capable of getting some Black Type here. Lets hope for the ultimate result - A Group 1 trifecta.

Race 7 the Group 2 Westbury Classic 1400m sees Candle In The Wind start from barrier 2 ridden by Matt Cameron. The 6 year old Darci Brahma mare is owned by VS Cronin, F Gianone, GS Racing Ltd, IR Gwyn, D and PD Jeffreys, K Ozkan and A Skelton. She has had 22 starts for 6-2-1 and her last start was on November 3rd 2015. She has come back from her spell in fantastic condition and is capable of winning this. She would prefer a bit of give in the track and would be unlikely to start on a really firm track.

Race 8 the Group 1 Bonecrusher New Zealand WFA Stakes over 2000m sees Volkstok'n'barrell start from barrier 5 ridden by Vinnie Colgan. The 4 year old gelding is owned by Ashley Goodwin,  Garry Cossey, Anne Gibbs, Jim Gibbs, Chris Gibbs, Donna Logan and Rosemont Stud. He has had 17 starts for 7-1-3 and has earnings of $985592.50. His last start was a win in the Haunui Farm Classic - Group 1. He will be very, very hard to beat in this.
