VOLKSTOK'N'BARREL KICKS OFF HIS BRISBANE CAMPAIGN ON MAY 7TH
Volkstok'n'barrel arrived in Brisbane late Sunday afternoon and has settled in really well. He did a quiet round of the all weather track at Eagle Farm this morning and looks and feels fantastic said Donna Logan and stable rider Anthony Burton. (Photo of Trevor (Volkstok'n'barrel) and Anthony coming off Eagle Farm this morning across the fantastic looking new course proper). His target is the $358000 AD Hollindale Stakes Group 2 Weight For Age over 1800m at the Gold Coast Turf Club on May 7th. Steady rain fell yesterday but today is much nicer with temperatures around 30 degrees forecast. He will be allowed to gallop on the number 2 grass track tomorrow morning. Lets hope we get a track more to his liking next saturday. He found the Randwick track a bit sticky in his last start in the Doncaster .
At home in Ruakaka Chris Gibbs continues preparing a big team including lots of young up and comers. Logan Racing will have several starters at Counties on friday 6th May.
Chris put the saddle back on Hasselhoof this morning for the first time since returning to Ruakaka last month. Chris said he is very happy. The horse is nice and bright and is hitting out very well.
