ASTARA TO CONTEST DUNSTAN FEEDS SOLILOQUY STAKES ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 22ND AT ELLERSLIE

Race 6 the Auckland CO-OP Taxis R75 1400m sees Taken The Liberty start from barrier 15 ridden by Sam Weatherley. The 5 year old O'Reilly gelding is owned by GW and MW Simon, A Clark and MScanlon. Has had 20starts for 3-3-3 , won at Ruakaka on 27th August over 1400m and then finished 7th on a Heavy 11 track at Ellerslie over 1200m. This should be more to his liking and could get some of it.

Race 7 the Dunstan Feeds Soliloquy Stakes $50000 Listed 3YO Fillies 1400m sees Astara start from barrier 5 ridden by Samantha Collett. The 3 year old Dalghar filly is owned by Neven Botica. She has had 6 starts for 2-1-0. Won the Champagne Stakes over 1600m on 23rd April in record time , ran 7th in the Breeders Stakes at Ruakaka on 10th September after over racing and being caught 3 wide from the horror draw and then came home strongly for 4th on 12th October at Ruakaka after being back and wide. She will start if the rains stay away - Te Rapa on Monday is the other option. Astara has been taken along quietly and has had no luck in her last 2 starts. She is aimed at the 1000 Guineas on 12th November and we wouldn't be surprised to see her win this.
