Race 3 the Woodridge Homes Premier Rating 85 Benchmark 1000m $30000 sees In Flight start from barrier 8 ridden by Matt Cameron. The 6 year old Fully Fledged gelding is owned by MG Dunn, JA Gibbs MNZM, R Thornley and EM Tynan. He has had 18 starts for 5-3-1. He ran 6th in his last start on 28th August (click on the link below to watch) . He strung the wins together last year . This is an even and speedy lot and the draw is not so bad with the 1000m shoot producing an almost straight run. He has been working really well and should be right in this.

 Race 9 the Rydges Wellington Captain Cook Stakes WFA 1600m $200000 sees Volkstok'n'barrel start from barrier 3 ridden by Matt Cameron. The 5 year old Tavistock gelding is owned by AM Goodwin, Rosemont Stud Pty Ltd, GJ Cossey , Mrs A Gibbs, JA Gibbs MNZM, CW Gibbs and DM Logan. He has now had 22 starts for 8-1-4. Has had 2 solid trials (click on link below to watch) as a lead into this. This is a weak Group 1 and lacks depth. He has been working better than ever and looks a picture. Will be storming home and will improve on whatever he does. Had a recent exhibition gallop at Ellerslie and ran 58 home in 33's.

Race 1 the Philips Lighting 2200m Rating 85 Benchmark $27500 sees Zafrenzy start from barrier 11 ridden by Alysha Collett. The 6 year old Savabeel mare is owned by Mrs CA, MC, MK and TP Dravitzki, Mrs KM Megchelse and LE and TM Vincent . She has had 35 starts for 4-4-5. This is a good quality field . She has been working well enough to feature here. She ran 6th in the Counties Cup on November 19th and 3rd over a mile in the Carbine Club Trophy on Nov 1st and came home strongly in that. Race 4 the Schneider Electrical Mufhasa Stakes 3 YO+P 1300m $50000 sees Bruce Arthur start from barrier 3 ridden by Samantha Collett. The 3 year old Showcasing gelding is owned by KJ Hickman and has had 4 starts for 1-1-1. He won his last start at Avondale (click on the link below to watch) on 15th Nov over 1200m after hooking out from the rail in the straight. The racing surface and the 1300m will suit and he can get some of this.

Romancer starts in the same race. The 3 year old Redwood gelding has drawn 14 and will be ridden by Vinnie Colgan. He is owned by Mrs A Gibbs, JA Gibbs MNZM, D Logan , D and K Milliken, OTI Management Pty Ltd, Stirling Bloodstock Ltd and LA Warwick. He won his last start  at Ruakaka and ran very good sectionals even though he ran greenly. (click on the link to watch the race). Holds a nom for the Derby and had a recent exhibition gallop with Volkstock'n'barrel at Ellerslie. Should be right in this.
