ROMANCER WINS THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC MUFHASA STAKES AND WILL AIM AT THE 2017 VODAFONE NZ DERBY $1M
Romancer came into contention for the 2017 Vodafone NZ Derby after his impressive win in the Schneider Electric Mufhasa Stakes 3 YO SW + P 1300m yesterday over 1400m. He now heads the second line of betting behind favorite Sacred Elixir. The well named 3 year old Redwood gelding out of the Foreplay mare Romantically is owned by A Gibbs, J Gibbs MNZM, D Logan, D and K Milliken, OTI Management Pty Ltd and Stirling Bloodstock. He was bred by NZ Thoroughbred Holdings Ltd and Whangateau Thoroughbreds. It is fantastic to see Craig Dawson involved in the breeding and ownership of Romancer. His next start will probably be the Jamieson Park Great Northern Guineas Group 2 Mile at Ellerslie on January 1st. Romancer was purchased by Donna from the Karaka Sales.
