Race 3 the Visique Rose Optometrists 1500m R65  $22500 sees Tavidream start from barrier 10 ridden by Cameron Lammas. The 3 year old Tavistock gelding has had 3 starts for 1-2-0 and ran second in his last start at Ellerslie on 29th January and won at Ruakaka on 6th January. Should handle a cut in the track and be hard to beat.

Race 6 the Retina Specialists Avondale Guineas Group 2 2100m   $100000 sees Wyndspelle start from barrier 9 ridden by Danielle Johnson. The 3 year old Iffraaj colt is owned by J Frew, S Hanna, Jen Campin Bloodstock Ltd and NP Randles.  He has had 12 starts for 2-2-4. He won the Waikato Guineas on February 4th and can pick up another one here.

In the same race is Romancer starting from barrier 16 ridden by Jonathon Parkes. The 3 year old Redwood gelding has had 5 starts for 2-1-0 and ran 5th in his last start over a mile at Auckland after throwing a shoe up front and galloping on it behind. Won the Mufhasa Stakes at Ellerslie on Dec 3 . The wet track and draw aren't ideal but he won a trial impressively going 4 wide on a heavy track on 30th August at Avondale. May relish the conditions, love the  extra ground, show his class  and go woosh.

Race 7 the Go Racing Syndications Avondale Cup Group 2 Open Handicap $100000 sees St Jean start from barrier 8 ridden by Johnathon Parkes. He has had 18 starts for 6-2-2 and won the City Of Auckland Cup on New Years Day. If he handles the ground he will be very hard to beat. His run on New Years Day was enormous and his beach work has been spot on. A big striding horse who is match fit.  He is attempting the second leg of the $1 million Triple Crown - City Of Auckland Cup, Avondale Cup and Auckland Cup. Good luck to the owners.

Race 2 the Energy Vets Taranaki Maiden  Special Conditions 1400m  $20000 sees Twentysixtwelve start from barrier 9 ridden by Kelly McCulloch. The 3 year old Pour Moi gelding ran 4th in his first start at Avondale on 25th January. Had a foot injury early in his career so the team have been patient . He is a very nice horse and if he handles the track will be hard to beat.

Ran second in the Rich Hill Mile on New Years Day and second in the Douro Cup. Can win if he handles the ground. Lets hope the owners are partying. They might have to dust off the passports.
