JAKE THE MUSS WINS AT AVONDALE AND WYNDSPELLE READY FOR THE DERBY

Jake The Muss won the Des Manley Memorial 1600m Maiden 3YO at Avondale yesterday. Samantha Collett from barrier 2 sat on the rail behind the speed then hooked out in the straight and won by three quarters of a length in a time of 1.36.03.

The 3 year old Postponed gelding is a full brother to Consensus and is owned by Mike and Jack Lum, Donna Logan, Shane Bennett, Allan Johnson, and Matt Mathias. Has had 5 starts for 1-1-1 and will now probably be aimed at the Special Conditions Mile at Ellerslie on March 4th $50000 or the Rating 65 at Ellerslie on Cup Day March 11th for $50000.

Wyndspelle worked over a round  by himself in an Exhibition gallop. Home in 36 seconds. He will be spot on for the Derby.
