SAMANTHA LOGAN WINS LEADING CAMBRIDGE JUMPS TRAINER 16/17 SEASON
Samantha's late father Dean would have been so proud of Samantha taking out the award for Leading Cambridge Jumps Trainer 16/17 Season and her mother Donna was ecstatic to hear the news last night.
Samantha thanked Mrs Browne for her help and for the use of her facilities especially the famous Browne's Hill. She also thanked Craig Thornton for his help and knowledge. She thanked her owners and congratulated Aaron Kuru on becoming Leading Jumps Jockey.
In the short time Samantha has been training she has notched up 15 winners with only a small team of 6 or 7 horses. Samantha was 6th ranked Jumps Trainer of 45 in New Zealand for the 16/17 Season and had 3 winners, 3 seconds and 4 thirds , with a strike rate of 5.67.
Donna commented today that Samantha was a chip off the block and was doing really well. I have sent a couple of horses to her that we were having issues with for a change of scenery and she has helped turn them around. Woodloveto for example had concentration issues and has done a few trips up Browne's Hill. He flew home in his debut run and all but won. It may sound hard but I don't supply Samantha with horses , she has to make it on her own. I hope owners will support her as she is passionate and can train.
