LOGAN RACING SINGAPORE KICK OFF THE NEW SEASON WITH 5 RUNNERS ON NEW YEARS DAY

Donna Logan and B Trainer Graeme Forbes have worked tirelessly through the 3 week  shut down period at Kranji working horses and planning for the new season which kicks off on January 1st. Raptor in the Class 5 1200m $30k , Forever Win in the Restricted Maiden 1200m $75k, Makkem Lad in the Class 4 1200m $50k, Hippo Ventura in the Class 5 1200m $30k , The Big Easy in the Class 3 1000m $70K and the surprise omission of Corsa D'Oro (ran second twice in Australia and won at the trials here)  from the Open Maiden 1200m $20k , the highest rated horse in the race  but the Handicapper elected to make him 4th Ballot after he ran last in his first start in Singapore due to a Fibrillation. One to watch next start.

The cover photo shows Graeme Forbes, Erasmus Aslam, Donna Logan and Desmond - Wei Sheng Chan. Aslam finished the season strongly with 8 winning rides and is tipped to be one of the leading riders in the coming season. Most trainers have now realised his ability and he will be in high demand. Unfortunately he is suspended for the first race meeting.   Our Stable Apprentice Desmond, WS Chan , another untapped potentially great rider was considering not riding race day next season but we have convinced him to work hard and develop his craft. We understand Singapore Turf Club are considering bringing in a Benchmark Handicapping System. This is a very smart move and would benefit greatly the Apprentice Jockeys who would get to ride some really nice horses that need a weight relief . We hope trainers will support our local rider WS Chan and give his career the kick start it needs .

Race 1 Prosperity 2019 Stakes Class 5 1200m Polytrack $30k , 13.15 Sing time, 18.15 NZ time sees Raptor start from barrier 1 ridden by Nooresh Juglall who finished 4th in the Jockeys Premiership 2018 with 46 wins. The 5 year old Congrats gelding is raced by Kajorn Petch Racing No 5 Stable.

When he won in September he jumped best and was eased back to 4th last and came home strongly to just win with an Apprentice aboard. Last start he got back and came home strongly for 6th. He is new to the Stable so just getting to know him. Working well and we wouldn't be lining him up if we didn't think he was ready.

Race 2 the Good Health 2019 Restricted Maiden 1200m Polytrack $75k , 13.45 Sing time 18.45 NZ time sees Forever Win start from barrier 9 ridden by Nooresh Juglall. The 3 year old Ekraar gelding is raced by HWA Yi No6 Stable.

Ran second on debut on 30th November , jumped well , trailed 3rd , eased and came home very strongly. A couple of other good chances in this race but hopefully Forever Win can live up to his name.

Race 3 the David Lee Freedman Class 4 1200m Polytrack $50k , 14.15 Sing time , 19.15 NZ time sees Makkem Lad start from barrier 8 ridden by Vlad Duric , winner of the 2018 Jockeys Premiership. The 3 year old Kuoshio gelding has had 4 starts for 1-2-0 and is raced by Eden Park Stud Racing Stable

Was a late scratching in early December due to  a plate injury . Won on November 16th stylishly after jumping best , easing and coming very wide around the turn with a lot of pace in the race and won strongly. A few nice horses in this but he will give them a run for their money.

Race 5 the Peace And Joy 2019 Class 5 1200m Polytrack $30k , 15.20 Sing time, 20.20 NZ time sees Hippo Ventura start from barrier 2 ridden by Nooresh Juglall. The 8 year old Iffraaj gelding is raced by Hong Kai OH.

Working well enough to get some of this.

Race 8 the Lim's Stable Stakes Class 3 1000m Polytrack $70k, 16.50 Sing time , 21.50 NZ time sees The Big Easy start from barrier 12 ridden by Nooresh Juglall.  The 4 year old Super Easy gelding is raced by The Big Easy Stable which includes GS Racing, Dennis Tay, Donna Logan, Ashley Goodwin, Graham Lemon, Ivy Pearson and Peter Woods and is trying for 3 wins in a row.

https://bit.ly/2rWNNAz  Won 7th December

Drawn wide and likes to lead . A step up in Class. Hopefully Nooresh can get him to settle and get him home for the big group of NZ owners and supporters who will be staying up late to watch this race.
