RUAKAKA RUNNERS FRIDAY 15th NOVEMBER , SINGAPORE RUNNERS FRIDAY 15TH AND SUNDAY 17TH NOVEMBER

Hi Everyone,
Well we are back on our home track tomorrow here at Ruakaka. This meeting has always been traditionally the Dargaville meeting, unfortunately they no longer are operating so we were asked to take it over.
It's a shame for the club that the fields are so light.

We have a few runners, 9 in all and will be exhibitioning Hello It's Me straight after race 1 with a thought at running next week in the WFA F&M 1400m at Counties.

We start our day with Sacred Lae in race 1. He is a staying type and gets his chance in the maiden 1600m with Trudy Thornton on board. He ran a close second at the Avondale trials over 1400m and the further he goes, eventually, the better. Probably still a bit immature but if he gets to have his own way either in front or near the pace we feel he will be very competitive.

In race 2 we have a very nice Super Easy entire called Lord Polonius, he has solid form but was unable to break through for his first win last preparation. His work has been good since his trial and he has drawn the ace. Andrew Calder will take the reins, he trialled him and we are sure he will appreciate the rain.
Let's hope he can break the duck for his owners Michael and Faye Vautier.

Race 4 will be our next starter, Kaareraway will have the services of Matty Cameron in the maiden 1400m. Her run behind Catalyst in the Breeders Stakes here was very good and if she runs up to that form she will be right in it. Let's hope so as Uncle Shayne is back from Japan and needs councilling after the All Blacks poor display.

The Whangarei Te Tai Tokera Cup (newly named) gives us two chances to get a winner. Firstly Richie McHorse with Sam Collett up is a top chance, I would forget the last run as it was not a great ride and the horse got badly unbalanced around the home bend at Ellerslie. He loves his home track and is looking to get over ground.
Our other runner is Transformer, he is racing out of his class. Another that got stiffed by a poor ride last time and with Matty Cameron on board he will improve on his home track. He is an out and out stayer that really will appreciate the easing of the track. Both good chances.

We move on the race 7, the 65 1400m where we have Jimmy James and Boogie Easy as our representatives.
Sam Collett rode Jimmy James to win very well last time at Te Aroha and even though he will be better at a mile we have kept him on the fresh side to target this race (she will ride him again). Boogie Easy ran a great race at Counties last time for second and would only have to repeat that form to be in this with Trudy Thornton up.

The last race is at 4:25 and we have Mumm's Jewel with Matty Cameron up, she was dissapointing last time but with the change of gear (ears off and blinkers on) we are hopeful of a reversal. She has the ability and if she can get to the front or close to it she will be there abouts. She has dropped in class too from a rating 72 race to this 65 so that will help. The interesting runner for us is Contrary Mary, if you go back and look at her form it is impecable with one trial and one race day start, winning both. She came to us with a slight tendon issue so she will be going into this race carrying plenty of condition. Therefore she may 'blow out' as she is quite tubby. But hse obviously has some class and you never know with good horses. She is the unknown one and has the services of Andrew Calder, who rode her in both of her forays onto the track.

All in all we don't have huge numbers but we do have some nice ones and feel we have a couple of good chances to get a winner

Happy punting

Chris

Singapore Starters

Friday 15th Nov

Race 1 sees Leo start from barrier 8 ridden by Alysha Collett in a 1400m SC Turf Class 5 $30k. Still no luck with the draw and will try his best. Not without a chance but Malaysia is where he will be better suited.

Race 3 sees Thunder Dragon start from barrier 6 ridden by Alysha Collett in the 1600m Poly Class 4 $45k . Led last start and faded. Has a better draw this time and the Poly may well suit. Hoping for a first 3 placing.

Race 4 Bounceback Ability starts from barrier 1 ridden by Benny Woodworth in the 1400m SC Turf Class 4 $30k. 3 trials of late and hopefully shows improvement.

Race 6 sees Whakaaria Mai start from barrier 11 ridden by Vlad Duric in the 1700m Poly Class 5 $30k. A couple of nice types in this and has drawn wide but on his work is one of our better winning chances.

Race 7 sees Qiji Commander start from barrier 1 ridden by Alysha Collett in the 1100m Poly Class 4 $50k although is First Emergency. A light weight chance if he gets a start.

Sunday 17th Nov

Race 9 sees Super Posh start from barrier 9 with 4 kg claimer M Nizar to ride in the 1000m Poly Class 3 $70k. In a tough field here from not such a great draw. Can feature.

As a note , Donna will be watching from Singapore , Alovelybrownhorse in race 2 at Ruakaka on Friday. Trained by her daughter Samantha Logan  in Cambridge and coming north to try and take home some of the Ngapuhi money. Was an impressive trial winner at Avondale last month. May need the run but looks a very nice type.
