RACING PREVIEW FOR LOGAN RACING SINGAPORE FRIDAY JANUARY 17TH AND SATURDAY 18TH JANUARY

Friday 17th January

Race 6 the Class 3 1200m Turf $70000 sees Ironside return to the track ridden by new gun rider , The Brazilian, R Maia from barrier 2. The 5 Year Old Jimmy Choux gelding is owned and raced by Lars Pearson. He is  lightly raced , having had only 9 starts for 2-1-1 and won $96210.He last raced in July last year finishing 10th and returned lame in his Off Fore. Has been off the scene recovering from an injury . Won a Novice 1200m Turf in November 18 and then a 1400m Turf in April last year after being wide. Has been working very well but may need the run. The two favourites will be debut winner Pax Animi and last start winner No Fun No Gain.    Ironside has won in similar times to them. Great ride by Ruan Maia to win in a time of 1.09.98. Trailed back and went to the rail in the straight. We thought he was only at about 90% so hopefully he will move through the grades. Owners return $30397. Total Stakes earned $133695.

Race 7 the Class 5 1700m Poly $30000 sees Official start from barrier 13 ridden by P Moloney. The 4 Year Old The Factor gelding is raced by Falcon Racing No 7 Stable and has had 15 starts for 1-1-2. He is new to the Stable and ran 7th on January 4th after finding the new heavy Poly to testing. He will have improved out of that run and although he has drawn very wide we are hoping he can get some of this. Won a 1700m Poly in July last year ridden by Vlad Duric. Sat 2 back the fence and was ridden very vigorously to the line. 8th, beat 4 home. Wide draw so dropped back with the speed on. Came home well out wide , will improve . Owners $1350 Total Stakes $28219.

Saturday 18th January

Race 1 sees Ko Olina start in the Class 5 1000m Poly $30000  from barrier 7 ridden by in form jockey WH Kok 2kg claim. The 4 Year Old Pins mare is raced by Twenty One Racing Stable and has had 7 starts for 0-2-0. She raced on January 4th finishing 4th after leading all the way on the new heavy Poly and coming to the end of it at the 50m mark.  Hopefully the track has settled down now and Ko Olina will have improved enough to score a victory. 2nd, jumped well and had to go to the lead or get caught 3 wide. the inside of the Poly was a bit heavier and she just got pipped on the line. Owners $5940, Total Stakes $21262.

Race 3 sees Tiger Force start in the Class 4 Turf Mile $50000 from barrier 5 ridden by WH Kok 2kg claim. The 5 Year Old Kitten's Joy gelding is raced by Falcon Racing No 7 Stable and has had 21 starts for 3-1-0. Broke the Track Record for a Poly Mile when in Class 5 in September after being mid field on the rail and when Duric hooked him out he bolted in. Won another Class 5 in September after being wide the trip the whole way. Very few Turf starts with no Turf form. No Poly race for him so we have elected to try him again on the Turf with an in form claiming Jockey. Big question mark , fingers crossed. 4th . Dropped back and was 2nd to last into the straight. Widest horse and came home strongly. Best Turf run to date. Should go close next up back on the Poly. Haven't written off Turf runs yet. Owners $3150 , Total Stakes $59602.

Race 4 the Restricted Maiden Turf 1400m $75000 sees God's Gift start from barrier 9 ridden by A Collett. The 3 Year Old Haradasun gelding is raced by JMS Stable and has had 4 starts for 1-1-0. Last start was November 29th where he raced mid field on the rail , hooked out in the straight and came home strongly for second and couldn't catch Meryl  Wide barrier doesn't help but would be nice to get some of this. Mr Alejandro and Mighty Vain look the obvious hard ones to beat.  2nd. Dropped back behind mid field and 7th into the straight. Came home strongly and will obviously be hard to beat over a mile . Owners $12825 , Total Stakes $30037.

Race 7 the Class 2 1200m Turf $85000 sees Eagle Eye start from barrier 8 ridden by A Collett. The 5 Year Old Pure Prize gelding is raced by Kajorn Petch Racing No 6 Stableand has had 16 starts for 2-3-1. New to the Stable so still getting a line on this horse in a smart field. 9th. Copped a check in the straight and came at them again. Encouraging run.

Race 9 the Class 4 1000m Poly $50000 sees Super Posh start from barrier 10 ridden by P Moloney. The 4 Year Old Super Easy gelding is raced by Super Posh Stable and has had 14 starts for 3-2-1. His last win was a Class 4 Poly 1000m ion 23rd August. Last start was on Jan 1st  where he finished 7th. Led most of the way and came to the end of it about 150m out.  Wide draw is a worry. 5th.  Went forward from the wide draw. Will be hard to beat next up with a good draw. Owners $2250, Total Stakes $129915.

Good  Luck Charm also starts in this and will be ridden by A Collett from barrier 12. The 4 Year Old The Factor horse is raced by Falcon Racing No 8 Stable and has had 8 starts for 1-1-3. Fairly new to the Stable and since joining us has run 5th, 1st and 2nd. Last start was January 4th on a very testing new Poly where he finished 2nd. Jumped well , trailed the leader and just faded the last 40m. Will have improved but the wide draw makes this very hard. Went forward from the wide draw and was 3 wide , came home ok out wide. Another that needs a better draw. Will improve. Owners $1350 , Total Stakes $40561.
