Weekend Racing for NZ

Hi again everyone. We have two runners today at Tauranga.........Race one has Roc Wheeler (ridden by Chelsea Burtan, 3kg apprentice) having his second try up over ground this preparation. His win at Ruakaka last start was great considering he covered a lot of ground and stuck to his task well to get the nod. He has come through the race very well and we wish Maurice all the best.

Final Suggestion gets the services of Chelsea Burtan as well, he ran second by a tiny margin when he carried a big weight last time so he will appreciate the 3kg claim. We wanted to race him quietly and he rewarded us with a strong performance. He is in race two today and he too has headed down from the North in great order. We would have preferred a little rain but he will run well as long as he is ridden the same way, with a bit of cover. Good luck to Heather, Peter and Tom.

On Saturday we have Dragon Storm in the Wellington Cup. He is an exciting stayer that we know will get the distance of two miles and will have Michael Coleman on board. You only have to look at his breeding, his Dad is a Melbourne Cup winner and his Mum is a dual Auckland Cup winner. Good luck to Alan Fu and all of his owners in this boy.
