LOGAN RACING RUNNERS @ ELLERSLIE

The final Group 1 race of the year is at Headquarters this Saturday and Logan Racing's navy blue and turquoise checkers, white sleeves and navy blue arm bands, will be well represented.

Starting off in Race 3, the Lindauer 3YO 1200 metres, Telepathic returns to racing for owner NZ Thoroughbred Holdings Ltd. Having drawn barrier 7, visiting Australian jockey Michelle Payne has been declared for this 3YO Mossman – Telepathy filly, who was in good form prior to spelling.

Later in the day, in the Westbury Club Mile, a Rating 75 Benchmark event over 1600 metres, Candle In The Wind will line up. This ever improving 4YO mare by Darci Brahma – Prefer Blondes has rider Mark Du Plessis engaged from barrier 11 for owners Cloughmore Racing Partnership, GS Racing Ltd, Mrs. D M Logan, Ross Gwyn & B G Moffat.

After last competing in the NZ Derby, Stand Your Ground returns in the final race of the day, the Co-Op Taxi Mile, a Rating 65 event over 1600 metres. This 3YO Coats Choice – Cruella gelding has Vinnie Colgan as pilot for owners A Bradley, D R Frampton, A M Goodwin, J E Harman & W M Woods. Also included in this race is Ngatira Gold. It's fair to say this 3YO Gold Centre - Desdemona gelding was disappointing last weekend so jockey Reese Jones hopes to turn those fortunes around from barrier 6 for owners Donna Logan, Amey Hardy, Russell Ensor, Bryce Moffat, Colin Thomson, Tim Charman & Jared Blucher.

Across the Tasman, Rising Romance is well and stil thriving in her Sydney surroundings after finishing a very encouraging 4th in the Vinery Stud Stakes last Saturday. She is still on track for the AJC Australian Oaks on Saturday week. More updates will follow during the upcoming week.
