Race 3 Whangarei Love It Here 1200m saw Silencer take out the sprint in a good time of 1.11.14 and won by 2.5 lengths. The 3 year old gelding is owned by Kaskazi Group Ltd and ridden by Matt Cameron .He is by Falkirk out of Quiet Please. This horse looks the real deal and should get through the grades quickly. The very vocal group of owners cheered their horse down the straight and it was fantastic to see some first time owners experiencing the excitement of the thrill that you get when your horse wins, especially in the way he dealt to this field.
Race 5 The Northland Business Systems 1600m. Super Ready ran second ridden by Matt Cameron. A good strong run, owned by Lena Ang , this horse will win some races.
Race 6 The Whangarei Bus Services 1600m. Serengetti Sun ran second ridden by Danielle Johnson. Another very strong run , this horse will be winning soon
Race 9 The BNI'NSPIRED Whangarei 1200m was won by In Flight in a time of 1.10.39. a margin of 0.3 lengths. Ridden by Matt Cameron and owned by MG Dunn, JA Gibbs MNZM, R Thornley, and EM Tynan The 4 year old gelding is by Fully Fledged out of Gypsey Rose and has won 3 in a row , very hard to do.
Race 10 The Rob Hart Lawyers Supporting Ruakaka Charity Race Day 11 July 1600m was won by Hasselhoof in 1.34.46 , the fastest mile recorded at Ruakaka in 20 years .The 3 year old gelding is by Tavistock out of Alpine. Ridden by Matt Cameron and owned by Blair Alexander, Donna Logan, Garry Cossey and the late Bill Woods. This horse has been labelled by some as a freak.
Race 11 The Cowleys Hire Centre 1600m was won by Zafrenzy. Ridden by Mark Hills the 4 year old mare fought to win by a small margin in a time of 1.37.18. Owned by Mrs C,MC,MR and TP Dravitzky, Mrs KM Megchelse , and L and T Vincent. A very gutsy performance.
