LOGAN RACING FRIDAY NIGHT KRANJI PREVIEW

LOGAN RACING WEEKEND PREVIEW

Logan Racing have just the 2 runners engaged this weekend, both at Kranji on Friday night. After a busy last weekend where we had four horses race in Singapore and 23 at Ruakaka, a quiet couple of days gives the team a chance to have a rest this weekend. Donna has a first starter and a horse seeking his first win for the stable engaged on Friday. With the Singapore, stable well and truly still in a building phase Donna and Graeme are very happy with how they’re team has been shaping up over the last 6 months. With an eye on the future, we are very excited to see the top team of horses begin to hit their straps. With 2 winners so far, Donna and Graeme are confident that in the coming months, once more of their new imports begin to get fully settled in, we will see that number grow quickly.

Chris and Michelle have had a brilliant couple of months of late, with a total of 11 winners coming from just the last three meetings at Ruakaka, again looking forward in to the new season, they are very impressed with the quality of young stock they have and they can’t wait for them to begin their careers, building towards the big spring racing.

FRIDAY 29 JUNE 2018 - KRANJI

R2 – No. 11 QIJI FLYER – Alysha Collett

A cracking son of Dawn Approach, this 2YO gelding will make his raceday debut at Kranji on Friday in a Restricted Maiden ($85,000) over 1000m on the Polytrack. He has had two trials to date with a win (26 June) and a third (10 July) from those appearances. Purchased for $120,000 from the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run sale, he has always been a horse that Donna has seen as a beautiful bodied horse that will only grow in to a more impressive racehorse. Both of his trial performances to ate have been nothing short of impressive and he should find the 1000m on the Polytrack to his liking. Drawn gate two of 12 for Alysha Collett, he will only carry 50KG as he is a 2YO taking on 3YO’s. He has been working very well and as seen in his trials is a horse that has shown plenty, the only concern come Friday might just be his lack of raceday experience, of which he will only improve with more of.

R8 – No. 9 KEY SUCCESS – Nooresh Juglall

The only other stable runner for the weekend runs in the Class 4 Non-premier 1400m ($45,000) on the Turf Short Course. The Fully Fledged 4YO has had just two starts since joining the stable for a couple of disappointing runs (6thand 8th). With one win and one second coming from his three starts prior to joining Logan Racing, he is a very promising horse. KEY SUCCESS has since won a trial over 1000m at Kranji on the 10thJuly for the stable. He will be partnered by one of Singapore’s leading rider, Nooresh Juglall. At both of his last starts, KEY SUCCESS drew wide and was slow away at the jump, causing him to get back in the field, from there he found it hard to run on. KEY SUCCESS will again jump from a wide barrier, coming up with gate fourteen of 16, carrying 55KG. KEY SUCCESS has already put together a nice record in Singapore and Donna was much more pleased with the horse at the trials recently, where he had blinkers on and was ridden quietly early. He found the line very nicely on this occasion to win, with the team now deciding this might be a good way to ride him since he hasn’t shown any early speed at his last two starts. Donna is confident that with the change of gear and tactics he is a great chance to turn around his last start performance.
